Verdict reached in Alex Mixon murder trial

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – The jury has finished deliberations and a verdict has been reached in the death of Alex Mixon.

Iren Carter was found not guilty on all charges except one.

  • Malice murder: Not guilty
  • Felony murder: Not guilty
  • Conspiracy to commit armed robbery: Not guilty
  • Armed robbery: Not guilty
  • Aggravated assault: Not guilty
  • Possession of fire during the commission of a felony: Not guilty
  • Forgery in the first degree: Guilty

The jury came to the exact same verdict for Mickee Carter.

  • Malice murder: Not guilty
  • Felony murder: Not guilty
  • Conspiracy to commit armed robbery: Not guilty
  • Armed robbery: Not guilty
  • Aggravated assault: Not guilty
  • Possession of fire during the commission of a felony: Not guilty
  • Forgery in the first degree: Guilty

Both men were given a $5,000 bond.
